Image: Bradley ready to make Pacquiao taste defeatBy Chris Williams: Tim Bradley (28-0, 12 KO’s) is ready as he’ll ever be to topple WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on June 9th, and give him his first loss since 2005. Pacauiao has had two close calls in controversial wins over Juan Manuel Marquez in 2008 and 2011, but his luck with the judges may be running out as he faces the younger and equally fast Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bradley told the examiner.com that he’s already sparred 115 rounds getting ready for the Pacquiao fight, and he’s ready to defeat him and rip away his World Boxing Organization title in their HBO pay per view fight.

Bradley knows what he can do, and he knows he’s not one of the guys that were dragged in to face Pacquiao in the last three years by the Filipino fighter’s promoter Bob Arum. I think Arum may have made a colossal mistake by choosing to sign up Bradley to his Top Rank stable and letting him fight Pacquiao. I mean, it’s a mistake in that Pacquiao could get whipped in this fight, but Arum will be okay because he’s promoting both guys, so it’s not as bad as it would be if it were a non-Top Rank fighter that did Pacquiao in. But a loss to Bradley may hurt Pacquiao in future PPV bouts, because boxing fans might not be too keen on paying big bucks for a fighter that was exposed by Bradley and also won a fight against Marquez that a lot of fans saw as a loss. But Arum will do okay because he’ll be able to schedule a rematch, and will again be promoting both guys.

It might actually help Arum because it’ll make a star out of Bradley, although I still have reservations about whether Bradley will ever become a huge star unless he puts on some more exciting fights. It’ll take at least two wins over Pacquiao for Bradley to become a star, and it’s going to be hard to get the judges to score against the money man Pacquiao because he’s so important to the sport right now.
