Image: Bradley: I'm going to shock the world; it's going to be a warBy Chris Williams: Undefeated Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KO’s) is an underdog going into his June 9th against WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. However, you can call Bradley a real live underdog because Pacquiao, as we saw in his recent questionable win over Juan Manuel Marquez last November, looks as if he’s starting to deteriorate in his skills.

Bradley said “It’s going to be a war. They’re going to have to carry me out of the ring on a stretcher. I’m going to shock the world. This is my time.”

I have to agree with Bradley. This is his time, and he’s catching the soon to be 34-year-old Pacquiao at the right moment in his career when he’s starting to slip. You can’t say the same thing about Bradley. If anything, he’s getting better and better. The man has cleaned out the light welterweight division, beating the best fighter at that weight in Devon Alexander, and now he’s looking to add the 2nd best fighter at 147 to his list in his new weight class.

Bradley has the drive and the skills to topple Pacquiao next month, and end the gravy train. Pacquiao just seems to be going through the motions at this point in his career after making it big many years ago. When you have a fighter that is as old as Pacquiao and who has been rich for many, many years, you’re going to see that fighter slipping a lot earlier than other fighters do.

I commend Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, for steering him into easy catchweight fights against his Top Rank stable fighters, as well as against other overmatched opposition. But I see Bradley taking down the old lion Pacquiao and exposing him even worse than Juan Manuel Marquez did in his impressive performance against Pacquiao last November. Pacquiao is going to have a lot of problems against Bradley, and unless he improves, I see Pacquiao going down in this fight.
