What made the win more impressive was that the 23-year-old Fury fought the entire fight in the southpaw stance and was still able to knock Rogan down twice, stopping him in the 5th round at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy wants to bring WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin and the Klitschko brothers to the UK next year to face Fury. He thinks it’s a doable situation. But until then, Fury will be kept busy against hopefully better opposition than the 40-year-old Rogan turned out to be.

Fury said to the mirror.co.uk “I think the Klitschkos should move on before they [get] beat, especially Vitali. I beat Dereck Chisora a lot more comfortably than Vitali did so I think age is a massive factor for him now.”

Fury also fought a badly out of shape 260 pound Chisora, who also had suffered an injury during training camp for that fight. Vitali injured his left shoulder early on in the Chisora fight and had to fight most of the bout using only his right hand. There’s a big difference between the conditions of Vitali’s fight with Chisora and Fury’s. Chisora has improved since his loss to Fury. He had the advantage of facing Robert Helenius before the Vitali fight and that helped him. At the end of the day, Chisora still lost to a one-armed Vitali, and whether Fury did better under different circumstances is neither here nor there. He still would stand no chance at beating Vitali, and that’s just the way it is.

Fury is expected to take on another weak opponent for his next fight. It’s probably going to be someone similar to Rogan or maybe a little tougher I hope.

If Fury’s promoter puts him in with a top 15 heavyweight contender he could be kicking himself afterwards because Fury is still very vulnerable against good opposition due to his slow hand-speed, lack of power, slapping punches and poor decision making. He’s got to work on the power and especially his jab before he faces a quality fighter. He also should never try his southpaw experiment again once he starts facing top tier opponents some day. If he tries that trick against a good fighter, Fury will get planted on the canvas.
