He’s still under the impression that he was robbed in the fight and gives Peterson very little credit for having solved his style and put him on the run in the 2nd half of the fight.

The two fighters will look to settle their differences to hopefully prove who the better fighter is in their rematch on May 19th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Khan said this at the press conference “We’re not going to change a lot of things. I’ll train hard and I’m not going to make any mistakes at all…I made a few mistakes in the first fight but I still felt I won it…We’ll see a different Amir Khan for this fight. I’ll be explosive, as always, and maybe this fight can be one of the fights of the year too.”

Khan isn’t an explosive puncher and he’s kind of kidding himself in describing his punching style in that manner. Khan would have more power if he sat down on his punches more, but that would put him in a vulnerable position where he might end up getting knocked out by Peterson by leaving himself open for return fire. Khan will make mistakes just as he did last time, and he’ll probably make more than a few in the first round alone. He’s not infallible and he’s setting himself up to look bad by saying he won’t make mistakes because he makes tons of mistakes all the time. In the rematch, Khan will likely do just as much shoving and pulling down on Peterson’s head as in the first fight. Although Khan has already said that he won’t shove, he probably will. Shoving and pulling down on his opponent’s heads appears to be such a huge part of Khan’s game that he can no extract it from his style.
