Instead of taking place in one of those venues the fight will be held in the much smaller Nottingham Arena, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

What this means is the fight will be held in a 9000 seat arena rather than a 20,000 seat arena in Manchester or London. Froch will be missing out on 10,000 extra fans that can be crammed into those bigger venues. That’s a lot of cash that Froch is losing out on by the fight not being held in one of those venues. Okay, so let’s look at this logically. Why wouldn’t Froch want to fight in front of a crowd twice as big, eh? If he can make all that cash and please his fans, then why not go for the bigger venue? What’s the big deal about Froch fighting in Nottingham? Does he absolutely positively need to fight in Nottingham in order to win?

I know Froch got what a lot of boxing fans saw as a gift decision last time he fought in Nottingham when he defeated Andre Dirrell by an incredibly controversial 12 round split decision victory in October 2009. So why does Froch need to fight in Nottingham when he’s walking away from all that green stuff he could make by fighting in front of a crowd twice as large? It makes me really wonder about the decision making. If you think it through, it’s a no-brainer that the fight should be held at the MEN or the O2 so that Froch cans scoop up that cash afterwards. It’ll be twice as many Brits screaming their heads of singing those god awful football songs and blowing their horns all night.
