Image: David Price: I know I'll be ready to challenge the Klitschkos in 18 months to 2 years and take their beltsBy Scott Gilfoid: I got a kick out of listening to unbeaten 28-year-old ex-British Olympic super heavyweight David Price (12-0, 10 KO’s) talk about what he’ll be doing with the Klitschko brothers in 18 months to 2 years from now when he finally will be ready to take on the Klitschko brothers.

Price said “Another 18 months to two years, I know I’ll be ready to them and take their belts.”

So what Price is saying here is he needs to wait until he’s 30-years-old to finally take on the Klitschkos. Incredible! David Haye retired at 31, and Price is waiting until he’s 30 just to fight them? You think they’ll be old to beat them, Price? God, talk about waiting someone out until they’re ready for an old folks home. I mean, come on. Vitali is 40-years-old and coming off of a poor performance against the limited Dereck Chisroa, and Wladimir is 35. What is Price waiting for? Those guys are getting up there in age, so why does a 28-year-old heavyweight need to wait another two years to fight them? That’s lame if you ask me. 28 is plenty old enough for him to fight the Klitschko. Heck, Price is about to turn 29. Isn’t that old enough to finally take on the Klitshkos?

Price has a fight coming up for the vacant British heavyweight title against Sam Sexton (15-2, 6 KO’s) on May 19th at the Aintree Equestrian Centre, Liverpool, Merseyside, UK. If Sexton captures the British strap, he intends on defending it twice and then moving onto the EBU heavyweight title to try and capture that and possibly defend it once or twice. We’re looking at possibly even more than 2 years. It looks to me like he’s waiting out the Klitschko brothers until they either retire or get so old that he can actually beat them. I think that’s bad. The guy needs to face them now while they’re still young enough to whip him.
