McKenna (McJack): Former World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion Davie Haye (25-2, 23 KO’s) says that he is willing to assist police authorities in any way he can in their investigation of the fracas Saturday night between himself and heavyweight contender Dereck Chisora .

The now infamous brawl occurred at a press conference following a unanimous decision win by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KO’s) over challenger Dereck Chisora (15-3, 9 KO’s).

Del-Boy”, who has been described in some circles as a loose cannon managed to offend nearly everyone with his unpredictable pre fight antics. At Friday’s weigh in Chisora gave Vitali a hard slap across the face and quickly retreated. Then prior to the fight Dereck spat water into the face of WBA/IBF/WBO and The Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s). Both Vitali and Wladimir maintained their composure for the purpose of having the title fight go off as scheduled.

The post fight brawl however, was when the excitement really began. Haye and Chisora began taunting each other with Dereck ridiculing Haye about the injured pinky toe in his losing effort last July against Wladimir Klitschko. Haye shot back that after losing to Vitali, Chisora had now lost his last three fights (actually Chisora has lost three of his last four fights).

Moments before he approached Haye, Chisora assured the gathered media that he was going to give David “two slaps”. Shortly thereafter “Del-Boy” began to approach Haye in an aggressive fashion with his entourage in tow. When Chisora moved in close to David, all hell broke loose and Haye landed, pardon the pun, a “Hayemaker” sending Dereck to the floor. All the details are not completely known as of yet, but Haye also got into a brawl with members of Chisora’s entourage. It is also unknowns whether or not Chisora got “glassed” as he claimed. In the scuffle Haye’s manager Adam Booth suffered a cut which appeared to be in his scalp.

At one point on the video Chisora can be heard threatening to shoot Haye. Apparently that is the reason Haye and Booth left their hotel, since it was the same hotel Chisora was staying at.

All the repercussions of the brawl are not yet known, although they could be severe. Haye and his team would just as soon have this incident behind them and undoubtedly will be engaged in damage control in the hopes of landing a title fight with Vitali Klitschko.
