Where next for Lamont Peterson?

Image: Where next for Lamont Peterson?By Daniel Tagg: Firstly I would like to say how good it was to see Amir “King” Khan get beaten. Khan has not impressed m at all and Lamont Peterson truly did well and rightly deserved to win the fight last night at the Washington DC Convention Center.

Peterson had to change his fighting tactics after round 3 and you can see how well it worked. Khan has no punching power and cant fight on the run. Peterson wining is good for boxing as I will explain.

So what next for Lamont “Havoc” Peterson, the best fight he can hope for in my opinion is to fight Timothy Bradley. This fight would be great because Bradley has WBO light welterweight belt and this would make it a unification bout. What is also going to make this a good fight is they are both American fighters and it would be a rematch for three world titles. It cant get much better that this.

There will be so much money and pride on the line for this fight. I really don’t see the need to have a rematch with Khan. Everything that makes a fighter want to fight another fighter makes me think he should fight Bradley. Khan should just move up in weight and try his luck there. I don’t see him doing much at welterweight either. The first world class opponent he faces and he will get beat or knocked out. Remember Khan hasn’t looked like the new p4p king in his last 5 fights and they were all against fringe world class fighters. Khan would get smashed to pieces if he fought a real top level great fighter like Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather.
