Image: Khan-Judah: Amir needs to focus on Zab instead of complaining about BradleyBy William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan seems to be treating WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley like the big fish that got a way. For some reason Khan can’t let it go and move on. He’s facing IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah on July 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan might not be aware of this but Judah is a bigger name than Bradley in the United States, and a much bigger knockout threat.

If Khan isn’t entirely focused for this fight, he might get knocked out and sent back home to England with an embarrassing loss. Bradley decided he didn’t want to fight Khan at this time, which totally makes sense from Bradley’s perspective because the money he would get for a Khan fight is chump change compared to the much bigger money he will get if he fights Manny Pacquiao in 2012. That’s the fight that Bradley really wants right now, and he doesn’t want to potentially mess things up.

Speaking with the liverpoolecho.co.uk, Khan said “I would have preferred Bradley to take the number one spot and to win his two titles. Maybe that fight could happen in the future, but the same deal will not be on the table. He chickened out because he knew he was going to get beaten. And if he got beaten by me, his career would be finished.”

Only the hardcore fans really care about seeing Khan-Bradley. The casual fans barely have a clue who Bradley is right now, because he’s still pretty much an unknown fighter because he hasn’t been fighting long on cable. Khan should forget him and start worrying like crazy about Judah, because he’ll wreck Khan’s world if he lands one of his hard uppercuts. Then Khan can totally forge about Bradley because there won’t be any point in Bradley wasting his time on a guy that has been knocked out in two fights. Khan should instead try and beat Judah and then attempt to avenge his 1st round knockout loss to Breidis Prescott. If Khan wants to win respect, that’s what he needs to do rather than complaining about Bradley not wanting to fight him.
