By William Mackay: Former two division world champion Zab Judah (41-6, 28 KO’s) says he’s willing to bet WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO’s) $100,000 that he doesn’t make it 12 rounds on July 23rd in their unification bout at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking on his twitter account, Judah said “Let’s make a side bet that you [Khan] won’t make it 12 rounds. I bet you $100,000. Little boy, I [will] teach you what boxing about. You will beg me to stop. Watch. I love being the underdog. Now put your money where your mouth is. $100,000 you don’t go 12 rounds!!!”

Khan responded with: “Haha, if you wasn’t broke, I would say put all your purse on the line. But now, I want you to get paid. Super Judah will be a stepping stone and the win beckons greatness and bigger fights in the future. I’ll sort the old man out. I promise I will take home the belt.”

Khan is the favorite to win the fight among the bettors. However, Judah has big power and excellent hand speed. If he’s able to catch up to Khan and land anything, he’ll have an excellent chance to knock Khan out. The bet that Judah is offering is really a smart one because he doesn’t have much of a chance of winning a decision against Khan because he doesn’t throw as many punches as he used to. The 33-year-old Judah is now pretty much about knocking his opponents out. He’s sitting down on his shots a lot more than he did in his youth and it makes him a lot more dangerous because he still has a very fast hands on top of excellent power and great technique. He’s also not easy to hit now that he’s trained by former world champion Pernell Whitaker. Khan may end up getting knocked out in this fight and have his dreams of fights against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Timothy Bradley dashed.
