Image: Haye lacks the skills to beat WladimirBy Scott Gilfoid: Just looking at how short WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is you can’t really give him any chance to beat IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on July 2nd. Haye lacks the arm length and can’t jab to save his life. We’re talking about a guy that struggled to beat Monte Barrett, John Ruiz and Nikolay Valuev. The only guys that Haye did well against at heavyweight are 39-year-old Audley Harrison and Tomasz Bonin. What does that tell you?

If a guy is struggling against the likes of Barrett, Ruiz and Valuev that’s not a guy that can beat Wladimir. Of course, don’t tell that to the loving, adoring and worshiping fans of Haye because they don’t see his faults and think he destroyed those guys without suffering a scratch. Haye looked horrible in all those fights and showed the form of an amateur in at the beginning stages. Haye is focused on his physique too much as if this is a body building contest that he’s about to enter against Wladimir instead of an actual fight.

Heck, Wladimir has a better physique than Haye and he’s not even trying. The fact is Wladimir can fight and Haye can only slug in a primitive style. It’s like he’s swinging for the fences every time and only capable of throwing a looping shot. It’s very predictable the way that Haye throws his punches. He has no variety at all and just has that looping right. His left is like a useless vestigial appendage that he rarely uses and can’t jab with. Wladimir only has to train to stop the looping shots, the rabbit punches and the holding and hitting and he’s got the fight won.
