Will Mosley gas out after 2 rounds again?

Image: Will Mosley gas out after 2 rounds again?By Chris Williams: Usually when you got a fighter gassing out after only two rounds like 39-year-old Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KO’s) did against Floyd Mayweather Jr. did last year in May it’s a sign that they’ve reached a point in their career where age is starting to rear its ugly head.

The next thing we saw from Mosley was a fight against Sergio Mora where Mosley again looked exhausted early on and fought poorly en route to getting a questionable 12 round draw last year in September.

Despite looking absolutely horrible in both fights, Mosley has been picked out as an opponent for Manny Pacquiao on May 7th. You have to wonder what precisely attracted Pacquiao and his team to Mosley. That is the magic question because it looks to me like Mosley would be the last person you want to hand pick if you looking for a competitive fight that would please the boxing fans who will be paying their hard-earned money to watch this fight in a bad economy.

Mosley is sure old that’s for sure. He’s about to turn 40, and that is ancient for a fighter. Okay, he’s old, and his stamina has looked bad in his last two fights. Will he once again run out of gas after only two rounds? If so, why was he picked? If I’m going to predict the future, I’m usually going to look at a fighter’s last couple of fights to get a good gauge of how they’re going to do.

Well, in looking at Mosley’s last two fights all I can think is he’s going to gas out early, look awful and become a statue for Pacquiao to pound away at for 12 rounds or until the referee feels sorry for Mosley and pulls the plug on the fight.
