Prediction: Haye to suffer KO loss against Wladimir

By Tom David Drury: If you are to interpret this fight as two men with fragile chins then anything can happen. In reality though we are looking at a valid, proven heavyweight champion of the world against a invalid, unproven heavyweight contender. WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) has not been proven at heavyweight, by any stretch of the imagination John Ruiz, Nikolay Valuev, Audley Harrison are not serious heavyweight contenders and do not pose the dangers of Tomasz Adamek, Denis Boytsov, Ruslan Chagaev. This in itself begs the question why is Haye so eager to step into the ring with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s)? could it be the big payday that will fund his premature retirement.

Wladimir’s development as a fighter over the last decade is nothing less than brilliant, mostly down to the genius that is Emmanual Steward. The days of Wlad hitting the canvass have long gone due to his finely tuned defensive style and damaging jab. Many fans ask how Wladimir would hold up with the heavyweights of old Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston, Muhammad Ali etc my answer to that question is he would dominate and conquer most if not all. This does not bode well for Haye as he is no Tyson etc he is a pumped up cruiserweight with a punch. This itself is far from what is needed to compete with the technically sound Wladimir.

This fight will make it to the middle rounds due to Wladimir’s reluctance to take the role of aggressor he will frustrate and hurt Haye badly with that piercing jab then finish him off in 6-7. If Haye decides to take up the role of aggressor and lets loose with those roundhouse shots he will be finished early leaving a anti-climax to the hype and promises he had the boxing world believe.
