Fury to fight Chisora: Tyson says expect a brutal knockout

By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten heavyweight Tyson Fury (14-0, 10 KO’s) will be facing British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) by the end of July at the latest, according to the promoters for the 22-year-old Fury. Chisora, 27, was supposed to be fighting IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, but he canceled due to a nagging abdominal injury.

This was the second time that Klitschko pulled out of a fight with Chisora. Fury really wants to fight Chisora and capture the British fight, which Fury wants for some reason. The title isn’t a big deal anywhere else but England and with Fury’s new trainer Emanuel Steward talking about big things for Fury in the future, it seems kind of silly the fuss that Fury is making about winning the British title.

Fury seems to be more focused on winning the title rather than fighting the best guy to get it. He’s called for Chisora to be stripped in the past, even though that would mean that Fury would be facing a much lesser fighter. That makes you wonder whether Fury is more into collecting worthless titles than facing the best possible fighters to keep improving.

Chisora appears to be the better fighter than Fury at this point, so perhaps that’s why Fury is interested in Chisora being stripped. Fury lacks power and his fighting style is sloppy to say the least.

Fury said “it’s not going to take me as long to finish him off. Expect another brutal knock out delivered from this 22 year old.”

Fury is a great talker but his talent doesn’t match his ability to promote himself unfortunately. In his last fight, an obscure fighter – Marcelo Luiz Nascimento – was found for Fury to beat up on. Fury won but it didn’t say much because of how poor Nascimento was.

Look for Chisora to easily beat Fury when the fight takes place. Fury’s talent level is pretty limited along the same lines as John McDermott.
