Shane Mosley did not throw the Mayweather fight

By Daniel Echevarria: Hey Fight Fans, I still see on many comments to this day the issue of Shane Mosley totally throwing the fight. Many people believed the fight was fixed because of Mosley’s non-performance after the second round of the fight. During that time, it was clear and I mean totally clear, that Mayweather was not invincible after Mosley caught Mayweather with two great shots.

Now, I will admit that I too was under the same impression that it was fixed and Mosley threw the fight just to get paid. That all changed when someone sent me a comment saying “If you think the fight was fixed than you where not watching the fight properly”. Boxing is called “The Sweet Science.” Well what is the definition of science? Science is defined as knowledge gained by systematic study, and a synonym for science is art, technique, method, discipline which represents who of these two fighters?

A typical viewer of a fight weather boxing, MMA, School Fight, etc really just looks to see two guys slug it out and which one will drop first and not the technique involved or the game plan. Honestly, we all do it, especially if its your favorite fighter and he is getting his butt handed to him. You literally turn off your critical eyes. Now I encourage everyone to watch the Mayweather-Mosley fight again on youtube or whereever you can view it. Even HBO on demand has the fight now here in New York.

Pay close attention to the first 3 rounds to see what really happened and you will see the true boxing “scientist” that is Mayweather figure out Shane Mosley’s game plan and turn it against him. In rounds 1 and 2, pay close attention to Mosley’s lead hand which is the left, i.e. the one with the tattoo on it and you will see a continued effort to throw to Mayweathers belly and also that lead hand is what led to the two devastating shots that rocked the so called “cash cow”.

Now by round 3 which real boxing fans know is the round where supposedly Floyd Mayweather figures out his opponents is when Mayweather starts to throw the same exact punch with the same exact left arm to Mosley’s belly and at the same time keeping his right arm low now protecting his belly. So from then on you will see Mayweather not only turns the tables on Shane Mosley but he also uses the same game plan that Mosley started with against him and so what happens is Mosley can no longer penetrate his body. So of course he tries to go up top and guess what Mayweather slips and dips his head and counters him just about every time.

Mosley once again tries to go down stairs to the belly. And what happens is that Mayweather blocks the belly, steps back and catches Shane Mosley with over hand rights coming in. So now at this point Shane Mosley is lost as to where he can land now. So what happens he starts to stutter and shake like he is going to throw a punch but throws nothing, which is exactly what Mayweather Sr. said he was going to do in HBO’s 24/7. And at this point, he knows now if I go downstairs he is blocking his belly now and he will catch me going in with the over hand right and straight right and if I go up stairs he is dipping my punch and catching me so what do I do?

Now a few things happened around this time number one after round 2 in the corner Roger Mayweather says to Floyd “Why are you trading shots with him?” “Box Box Box that’s what you do Box this dude.” Also, in round 3, you hear the HBO commentator say “Floyd has made an adjustment lets see what Mosley does” and Naseem says “Mosley your looking for the knockout shot but there is none throw the jab.”

So what really happened is this if I go to a basketball court and play one on one with the best person in town who has beaten everyone in that town, chances are I have a 50/50 chance. But if I walk on that court on the same day with Lebron James or Kobe, chances are I’m barking up the wrong tree no matter how good I think I am. So Shane Mosley thought he was stepping in the ring with a typical fighter, just like all his other opponents and not excepting the reality and truth that Floyd Mayweather is by far not your typical fighter. He in fact is a Boxing Scientist that we all have the pleasure of witnessing by dissected Shane Mosley in 3 rounds.
