Oner says Solis will KO Vitali and end his career on 3/19, and then face Adamek next

By Jim Dower: Ahmet Oner, the promoter for unbeaten heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KO’s), isn’t happy that WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO’s) and his brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko are planning to fight Tomasz Adamek in September, treating their opponents Solis and Dereck Chisora as sure fire wins.

It’s unknown right now which Klitschko brother will ultimately land the Adamek fight, but Oner isn’t happy either way. Solis faces Vitali on March 19th at the Lanxess-Arena, Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Most boxing fans aren’t giving the short 6’1″ and rounded Solis much of a chance to beat Vitali. However, Oner has this to say about the fight:

“Honestly, I think Adamek will fight Solis in September in Poland or at least they will have to negotiate with us about it. Because after Solis knocks out Vitali on March 19th and ends his career, we call can imagine what will happen. Little brother Wladimir will try to take revenge for his borhter and then Solis will beat Wladimir as well.”

It’s hard to imagine Vitali retiring after losing to Solis. Most likely he would keep Wladimir out of it and would go for the rematch himself unless he lost due to a serious injury that would keep him out of action for a lengthy time. In that case, Wladimir would then almost surely step up and attempt to avenge the defeat the same way Wladimir did after Vitali lost to Chris Byrd in 2000 due to a shoulder injury. By the same token, Vitali repaid Wladimir by beating up and stopping Ross Puritty after he knocked out Wladimir in the 11th round in 1998.
