By Keith Darren: Pacquiao will take advantage of Margarito’s lack of defense and sluggishness in their forthcoming fight this November 13, 2010 at Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium in Arlington Texas for the vacant WBC junior middle weight title. This was Freddie Roach’s statement after watching some of Margarito’s fight tapes.

“I think we will knock Margarito out along the way. I think Margarito’s defense is terrible. He’s slow. I know that Margarito is supposed to be in great shape for this fight, but that’s what he’s supposed to be”, according to Roach. Pacquiao will continue his training at the Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, California after his training camp in Baguio City, Philippines. “We’re going to maintain the training that we did in Baguio and maintain our conditioning” said Pacquiao who is gunning for his 8th title in 8 different weight divisions.

Pacquiao will be having at least two workouts a day at the Wild Card Gym aside from early morning run at the Griffith Park. Like Pacquiao, Roach is also expecting Margarito’s good condition come fight night. “It is a world title fight so that’s what I expect. Margarito should be in the best shape of his life. But Pacquiao’s going to be too fast, and Margarito’s defense is going to be too poor, and we will dominate him”, Roach’s assurance.

As what we have seen in most of Margarito’s fights, we can’t help but notice his lack of defense and his being a slow starter. With the kind of opponent that he will be facing, Margarito can not and should not be the same Margarito. Manny can be aggressive from Round 1 to 12 and can knock Margarito out in 2 rounds if he will fight Manny in his game. Antonio is strong and a lot bigger than Pac with longer reach advantage. But can he use those advantages in his favor? His plan is to pressure Pac, but Manny is too slick Margarito will be having a hard time finding his target. With Margarito’s showing in his last fight against Robert Garcia, there’s no way he can touch Manny, and worse, he will end up kissing the canvass.

Margarito should not take Pacman lightly due to some reports about his training back in the Philippines where it was somewhat hampered by his duties as congressman of their province and Pac’s extra curricular activities like playing basketball, singing, and attending some engagement activities. Manny had been in these kind of disturbances in almost all of his trainings but still end up 100% ready in stepping up in the ring and knocking opponents out. Margarito should also not take seriously Khan’s statement that he had a good showing against Pac during their sparring. The truth is, with less than 30 seconds left, Roach instructed Pac to give Amir a taste of what he will be having in his fight against Maidana, and the result is, Khan got nearly knocked had it not been due to bigger gloves worn by Pac.

Pacquiao vs Margarito will still be an exciting fight, Pacman vs the Tijuana Tornado, one who is making history and the other for redemption. Both are defensive fighters and had been to several wars. Come fight night, one will come out victor, while the other might end up his career. Who will it be?
