Margarito says beating Pacquiao “Won’t be too difficult”

By Dave Lahr: Two-time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito (38-6, 27 KO’s) is totally confident about his fight coming up against Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) next month on November 13th at the Cowboys stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Margarito, 32, had this to say to the Mexican media according to Philboxing.com, “I am not worried about [Freddie] Roach and his people calling me dirty. I know I am a clean figther and I will show it to him and Pacquiao the night of the fight. I have what it takes to knock Pacquiao out and I will do it. I’m training as hard as I can in Oxnard, California. It won’t be too difficult. It is just a matter of putting the pressure on Manny and that is it. At this weight class, I am bigger, stronger. I have the confidence that I can put Pacquiao to sleep, no doubt.”

Yes, Margarito is 100% correct. He has the power, the size and with his pressure, he’s going to make the little Filipino fold like a cheap suit on November 13th. That’s the key. Margarito has to treat Pacquiao no respect whatsoever. Margarito needs to treat Pacquiao like a common house pest, and exterminate him and then flush him or sweep his carcass out of the house and put him in the garbage. All Margarito needs to do is treat Pacquiao like he’s Kermit Cintron and Miguel Cotto, and jump on top of Pacquiao and blast him with non stop punching until all that’s left is a bloody mess.

Roach may have worked some parts of Pacquiao’s game, but he’s been totally useless in fixing Pacquiao’s tendency to stop punching when he’s under attack. He just waits until his opponent stops punching before he throws anything back. This is why Pacquiao was badly beaten by Erik Morales in their first fight. Morales was still young then and not having weight problems. All he did was unload on Pacquiao with a never ending amount of shots and Pacquiao ended up waiting all night long for Morales to stop punching. This is what Margarito needs to and what he will do in beating Pacquiao to an ugly, reddened pulp next month.
