Fury, 6’7”, is coming off of an impressive 9th round stoppage win over John McDermott on June 25th, and is waiting to take on the winner of the Sexton vs. Chisora fight. Fury has no fear of facing either one of these two fighters and seems to be eager to take on the winner as soon as possible.

There are a lot of boxing fans who feel that Fury would be over his head against the likes of Chisora and Sexton. However, Fury has a lot of power and is particularly good at mixing it up in close. If his chin holds up under him after an early onslaught from Chisora, it’s possible that he could take Chisora out. Chisora looks good in the first four or five rounds, but then slows down, loses a lot of his power and looks very average. It’s like he hits a wall after the 6th round, and just becomes a slow, weak-punching plodder.

Fury, 22, has the youth to take the fight to Chisora in the 2nd half of the fight and could very take him out if he can land some big shots to his body and uppercuts to the head. Chisora has been in with exclusively B level fighters his entire career. His best wins came against Sexton and Danny Williams.

Sexton has great boxing skills, but he wears down fast and by the 6th round, he’s ready to be taken out. In a fight against Fury, Sexton would likely stay on the move the entire fight and use a lot of clinching. Fury would have to use his long jab more to spear the much shorter, 6’2” Sexton. Fury will have a huge size advantage against either Sexton or Chisora. The thing is Fury needs to use his height and reach for him the way that the Klitschko brothers do by using his jab, leaning back, and clinching when Chisora or Sexton get in close to try and land their shots. Fury needs to learn to start fighting tall and using his height instead of fighting like a much shorter fighter. That has to do with training. Fury needs a trainer that can teach him these things so that he can continue to improve.
