By Sam Gregory: In the main event of ESPN2 Friday Night Fights from the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Ok. Delvin Rodriguez 25-4-2 with 14 KO’s takes on Ashley Theophane 26-4-1 with 7 KO’s in a scheduled 10 round bout in the welterweight division.

In round 1 both fighters had a good exchange of punches, throwing and landing combinations and get right to the fight instead of wasting a round feeling out their opponent with jabs

In round 2 Rodriguez looked to be the aggressor getting off first with his punches, being the bigger man he landed the harder punches

Round 3 Rodriguez is the more aggressive puncher; Theophane is a game fighter throwing punches but when he does he leaves himself exposed and open to Rodriguez’ punches; Theophane lands a big looping overhand shot

Round 4 Rodriguez has good solid clean assortment of punches that he lands crisp and clean; when Theophane gets in close but doesn’t pull the trigger when he has the chance; he throws the punch but it’s out of control and doesn’t land

Round 5 Theophane throws a big looping overhand punch that doesn’t find a home; he throws a couple of those punches and falls forward and off balance

Round 6 Rodriguez does more of the same landing clean solid shots; Theophane throws more of the looping punches that don’t land anywhere

Round 7 Theophane still can’t hit the mark with his punches; Theophane looks to be having a better round picking up the pace; Rodriguez isn’t throwing his jab in this round, it could be a turning point for Theophane if he continues to keep doing what he’s dong

Round 8 Theophane appears to be having a better round; he catches Rodriguez with a good punch but it could be too little too late; after this round the fight appears to be getting better for Theophane

Round 9 Rodriguez lands a solid shot Theophane has the chance to counter but doesn’t land the punch; Rodriguez is in total control and finishes this round strong

Round 10 Rodriguez lands a big right hand giving Theophane the opportunity to counter but Theophane doesn’t pull the trigger; Rodriguez looks dehydrated and weak

After the tenth and final round the fight goes to the judge’s scorecards: 95-95, 96-94 and 96-94 for the winner by majority decision Ashley Theophane

Theophane improves his record to 27-4-1 with 7 KO’s while Rodriguez falls to 25-5-2 with 14 KO’s
