A headbutt in the second round changes the plans of the champion Tamara in seconds with a cut very deep and a hemorrhage barely controlled by the Colombian corner. The rest of the match was managed by the challenger, who did not demonstrate a little respect for the title holder, eventually, Tamara intended to recuperate points with good punches, connecting Lazarte whit much power, trying to maintain the distance with the Argentinian with fast jabs.

However, Lazarte was incisive in use a short distance style, leading his head on the chest of the champion and connecting strong uppercuts to the head and hooks to the body. The experience of the Argentinian takes a big part of the match, the boxer of thirty-nine years put his knowledge on the ring and with good strategy, conserving stance, and wasting no energy, have a great accuracy to support to the twelve round and win the match in front of his family and public.

Lazarte won by split decision of the judges Roberto Ramirez 116-113, Valerie Dorsett 115-113, Samuel Conde Lopez 113-115 and was declared the new FIB World Light Flyweight Champion for the first time after a long career and six title shots opportunities lost in the past. Lazarte cries and says: “I cant believe than I finally made it. I dedicate this to my mom, my corner, and every people who thrust me and those who says than I was little bit older to do this”. Now, Lazarte decides his future, either take a possibly rematch for the Colombian or retiring as a champion as he announced about before the match.
