Image: Froch shoots down another location for Abraham fight – NewsBy William Mackay: Former World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) is has shot down yet another potential location for his stage 3 Super Six bout against Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s). Froch has already said no to Germany and Sweden for his bout against Abraham. Froch is now reportedly shooting down the neutral site of Majorica, the largest island of Spain. In an article at thisisnottingham.co.uk, Froch said “I don’t fancy that. What about the heat?”

Froch is still holding out to get the Abraham fight to take place in his home city of Nottingham, where Froch already has won a controversial 12 round split decision over Andre Dirrell in his first stage 1 bout of the Super Six tournament last year in October. Froch lost his second bout of the Super Six tournament in a 12 round decision to Mikkel Kessler in April. Froch is convinced that he would have won that fight had it taken place in Nottingham.

Many boxing believe Froch after seeing the Dirrell fight. Froch seems overly worried about possibly losing another decision for some reason, even though there has been only one controversial decision in the Super Six tournament and that’s Froch’s win over Dirrell.

Kalle Sauerland, the promoter of Abraham, says “It’s all about money in this business and we haven’t received any financial offer from Nottingham, so as it stands, we won’t be going there. And I’m not really interested in America. We’ve looked at Zurich and Majorica. I love the idea of a bull ring in Majorica.” But it looks like Froch doesn’t and he’s already threatened to pull out of the Super Six tournament if he’s forced to fight Abraham in Germany.

It’s unclear whether Froch would also pull out of the Super Six tournament if the fight goes ahead in Majorica or Zurich. Either of those locations seem more than a little fair, as both are neutral countries and it’s not likely that Abraham will get any benefit from the judges in that location. This fight could end in a knockout, so Froch might be wasting his time shooting down locations.

Abraham hits like a mule kicks and would have an excellent chance of taking Froch out with a big shot if he can catch him with one of his big shots. Froch is certainly there to be hit. He’s taken a lot of shots to the head in his last four fights, and he could run out of luck against Abraham.
