Is Haye Heavyweight’s Amir Khan?

Image: Is Haye Heavyweight's Amir Khan?By Craig Finch: I have been reading and responding to many articles based on David Haye since his move from the Cruiser to Heavyweight divisions. Many people have many views on Haye, some believe he is the second coming, some believe he is just a loudmouth and a knockout waiting to happen.

They believe he has not got the chin to cope with a Klitschko, Dimitrenko, Arreola, Chagaev, Povetkin or Tua. And because of this they call him over hyped, a bum, blown up cruiserweight and so on.

But what if he did have a solid chin? He has the power to compete with all the above mentioned boxers, he is as fit if not fitter than most of the above, he is not stupid as proven in the Valuev fight and his biggest asset is his speed. Speed kills, and it is a massive talent to have in Boxing.

But the chin problem exists in many people’s eyes, like I say he is a knockout waiting to happen. I am a big Haye fan myself and even I think his chin is suspect. It is a shame because with a good chin he would be a monster in the division and use all of his superior skills to defeat all comers.

Personally I think his chin could well of become stronger with the move up in weight, I think he was weight drained at Cruiser, his body wanted to get bigger but he wanted to stay and complete his dream of being the unified champion. But to date it has not been tested so I just don’t know, until it is I will be on the edge of my seat every time he takes a big shot.

This to me is like a mirror image of Amir Khan, I think he has all the attributes to dominate a very good Jr Welterweight division, beating everybody including Alexander, Maidana and Bradley. He’s so fast, has the power, stamina, brain and hunger to take them all. But he has the chin problem, Again I think a move up in weight has done him a world of good, again I think he was weight drained at Lightweight. But I don’t think it will make him iron chinned and again like Haye the chin is yet to be tested.

If the chins are that bad then what a shame to have all that talent and such a handicap. If the chins are better than we thought then watch out because we could have two future hall of famers.
