Image: Pacquiao-Malignaggi to be on PPV: Wouldn’t pay a penny to see itBy Peter Wells: With Pacquiao-Mayweather looking in serious trouble, Bob Arum has picked one of the worst opponents he could have picked for Manny. I feel sorry for Manny to be honest because this is exactly what happened to Oscar and Floyd with Arum. Pacquiao won’t get any credit for beating Malignaggi, and his haters will just have more reason to hate. Arum knew that Tim Bradley was willing to step in, and that would have been a very interesting fight, but no, he goes for Malignaggi. No disrespect to Paulie, but he’s lost to Hatton and Cotto, both whom Pacquiao stopped. It is a complete mismatch and a fight Pacquiao couldn’t retire on. I know that he couldn’t fight Mosley on this date, but a fight for the summer would be a great day for boxing, much better than Pacquiao-Mayweather.

The question is now, what will Floyd do? He has plenty of money so he doesn’t need another super pay day and does have any love for the sport anymore. If he does then I would suggest he fights Shane Mosley, and then winner can take Pacquiao, that’s as long as the winner is Mosley.

The recent news that Pacquiao-Malignaggi will be on PPV is a complete joke, who is going to pay for this, ok diehard Pacquiao and Malignaggi fans would, but we all know what the outcome will be – a short massacre. What has Pacquiao got to be worried about here? If Malignaggi does cause the upset of the century and somehow beat Manny, it’ll ruin everything for Pacquiao, like look at all the criticism Lennox Lewis has got since he was introduced to the Hall of Fame. People saying how can he be in the Hall of Fame when he lost to Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall. So Pacquiao losing or not getting a good performance against Malignaggi would be a big glitch in his fantastic career.
