By Jorge Lugo: On November 14, 2009, A huge boxing event will take place. In what has been called “FirePower” by promoter Bob Arum, Miguel Cotto will face Manny Pacquiao in what has truly been hyped up to be its promoted name and and then some. But in the midst of all this, I find myself asking( especially after reading numerous articles), why is this event so huge?

Miguel Cotto has faced countless opposition before and the same for Manny. But with that also came my answer. Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao are proven warriors in the ring. No matter who’s on the others side, this is what makes boxing and this is a fact that no one can take from either of them. So the truth is, come the night of Nov 14, sit back, relax with your friends and family and enjoy without judgment of either fighter or how they prepared for this bout.

Because quite honestly, everyone will be a winner. Miguel, for being given a 2nd opportunity to shine and to be given the opportunity to leave it all on the table win lose or draw. Manny, for being able to say he has taken on the “impossible” and jump “heart” first into his opposition and truly give it his all, regardless of outcome.

And of course the fans, for being able to have been witness to a battle between two ring warriors. Regardless of how anyone feels about the fighters is not going to determine the winner, what will determine the outcome is the honest truth of who trained hard enough and who utilized there fight game better. That my fellow boxing writers, analysts, and fans is the sole truth.
