With the help of Roach, Khan will become a very good fighter, Roach has very tough training camps and is one of the best if not the best trainers around. I want to see Khans’s defence improve, the British boxing fans have been told that his defence has really improved since the Prescott defeat, which is true but it still needs a lot of work. Khan does not have great head movement and his footwork is often overrated, not to mention his chin is not the strongest in the business.

I am not going to say that Khan has a glass chin because I have not faced Breidis Prescott myself in a boxing match but Khan certainly does not have a strong chin. Khan does not look to have great power, his training seems to all be revolving around speed and fitness and if he cannot put away fighters like Kotelnik in a 12 round fight then he is no Earnie Shavers. That is it, that is Khan’s weakness, it can all be improved except his chin but if a fighter has great defence then his chin does not always need to be the strongest.

Khan also has strengths as all fighters do, his first and most obvious strength is his speed, Khan is extremely fast and is unlikely to meet a fighter who can equal his speed. Having great speed can also equal power because of the sheer volume of punches. Khan has great fitness, he can fight 12 rounds and not be looking to fade much in the later rounds, I think we can thank Roach for that. Khan also has a fighting heart, he is hungry for success and wants to prove his critics wrong. They are Khan’s main strengths which will get him through a number of bouts but I feel that his chin will eventually give out.

I feel that Khan’s speed and fitness will take him places if his defence improves which I think it will. Khan will get through a lot of fighters and will be champion for a couple of years, but eventually he will face a tough, fast and powerful fighter who will catch him with a perfect shot much like Prescott did and then the questions will be coming in from the critics.
