When Will Pacquiao Be Retiring Already?

By Manuel Perez: I’m really starting to wonder when Manny Pacquiao is going to finally decide to hang up the gloves once and for all.

You can forget about challenging fights like Pacquiao vs. Paul Williams or vs. Marquez, because I think Pacquiao has seen enough of tough fights after getting a gift decision against Marquez last year in March. Pacquiao has gone after a couple easy fights since then, beating Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton rather than risking his backside against Marquez, Williams or Shane Mosley.

That isn’t fair and it’s unsporting if you want my two cents. Freddie Roach already said something about Pacquiao retiring after two more fights. God, I hope he’s right on this because I’m officially sick of hearing about Pacquiao. You got a ton of people crowing day and night about how great Pacquiao is, yet he couldn’t conclusively even beat Marquez.

You can forget about Pacquiao ever fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. because that’s probably not going to happen. Pacquiao and his promoter will want 60% of the revenue and Mayweather will tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine and move on against bigger and better fighters than Pacquiao and get richer than he is now, while Pacquiao gets his opponents to meet him at catch weights.

That’s why I don’t see Pacquiao fighting Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto fighting him next.

Unless Pacquiao gets Cotto or Mosley to come in at 140 or so, Pacquiao is probably going to get his backside handed to him on a silver platter. That’s why I see Pacquiao fighting Edwin Valero, who he’ll be able to beat easily because of Valero’s marginal talent.
