Stepping into the national primetime television spotlight for the second time in as many days, Hall of Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach will appear as a commentator in tonight’s inaugural broadcast of the NBC Sports Network’s Boxing Series. (9 p.m. Eastern, NBC Sports Network).

McKenna (McJack): Five time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach has told ESPN that he thinks that the much ballyhooed fight between his prize pupil WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO’s) and undefeated WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s) will happen.

Roach didn’t seem as anxious for the fight to happen last year when Mayweather was agreeing to weight penalties, glove sizes, and purse splits.

It’s always a knockout prediction and generally Roach starts with a late knockout prediction and inches it downwards as the fight nears.
