rubioBy Reynaldo Sanchez & Javo Ramos Martinez: The well-known trainer Jorge Rubio and his assistant Alex Hernandez continued his winning streak in 2015, and early in this year, were outlined as one of the most successful duos coaches of South Florida. Jorge Rubio and Alex Hernandez are working together in the gym located in the Doral city at. 8295 NW 56 St. Miami, Fla. 33166.

In December 2014, Rubio and Hernandez went to Spain with “now No. 17-ranked WBC 122-pound”, Hairon “El Maja” Socarras, and there, they succeeded impressively beating the previously ranked # 10 Jesus Galicia, with a devastated KO in the 2nd round that left no doubt of the quality of Socarras.

Then later in the month of February this year; Rubio had to make great efforts since two of his fighters, Neslan “Pitbull” Machado and Jacob Wooley, would be in action with only one day apart and in different cities. Jorge Rubio traveled to North Carolina to be in the corner of Jacob Wooley on the Friday night of (February 27), in where an impressive KO was scored in the 1st round against Patrick Barnes improving Wooley’s record to 3-0 -0 (3 KO’s)

After a long and tiring journey from North Carolina, Rubio made it to get to Tampa, Fla. USA, to assist Neslan Machado in his match against fellow unbeaten Ernesto Garza. Machado ended up winning by unanimous decision. Therefore, Jorge Rubio and Alex Hernandez kept their winning streak and achieving more victories to their squad (which already count with the great Guillermo Rigondeaux).

“We’re trying to put Socarras, Machado and Wooley in the same event. Still do not have a definite date, but that is the goal for the month of April. I think these young fighters are up to great things and their actions prove it. I feel a particular pride with this trio of fighters, they are a reflection of my work every day” Rubio said.

“This week we will define where and when these young fighters will be in action. For now we are only in conversation and there are some offers, but nothing official just yet. There are dates, but their managers have not reached any agreement with the parts involved to put a boxing event together. We will provide any details as soon as we have news on when these three young fighters would be fighting again” said Rubio from Miami, FL.
