floyd333By BR: Recently, the public boxing audience have been in a mental roller-coaster attempting to figure out the logistics of the long overdue fight. It has become apparent even casual fans have become intrigued in the negotiation process.

Hardcore boxing fans would much rather teleport to May 2, 2015 then deal with the mental warfare on display. But as human we tend to love every ounce of information rather it be completely wrong or unreliable. So as fans what should we believe?

Now as days go by, both sides lose days to promote one of the most lucrative fights. We’ve heard Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and his fighter Manny Pacquiao continuously spew there “sign the contract” slogan repeatedly about a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. But for one to consider, what contract is available if the joint collaboration between HBO and Showtime are not figured out? Many fans dispute “Networks are not the problem”, having a business background you analysis a) Two of the biggest network (also RIVALS), b) have been in competition and have not collaborated since 2002, c) both fighters have a deal that resonates an income from PPV from companies and lastly the production controls, promotional shows and budgets to sort out.” Therefore with networks working hard to secure the most lucrative and profitable fight in boxing, there is no contract set to be signed as of yet, only terms worked out that hold no weight. Even more problematic is if there was a contract that was signed, why are the network still in negotiations?

Many fans are quick to sway to the defense of both fighters. The beauty of the fight resonates through the passionate drift and hatred between both fighters, camps and fans. The only problem lies among the common misconception of blaming Mayweather when Pacquiao is left with no blame. Many fans are bringing live to other opponents other than Pacquiao to gain any reason to blast Mayweather. Example the level of blasphemy is ridiculous, Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto 2 has been denied by Cotto’s advisor, yet he gets slack for a speculated fight. While Arum is putting out Amir Khan as a viable option for Pacquiao and is given a far nod. Fans need to simply respect the process and have patience that this fight is being put to the table and the paperwork is being rigorously worked on.

Negotiations have fallen off the tables due to both sides’ greed and lies. As hardcore fans patience is key, but also speculation is an addiction and hopefully the final judgment will be made on the progress of this fight. Fingers crossed Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
