Khan currently trains under the experienced eye of Freddie Roach, the man many consider as the best training in the world. but recently Amir khan has been offering out names to anyone who will listen. And those names are of trainers who have asked to be his trainer. Emanuel Steward is one of those names.

Steward is very experienced indeed and currently trains the heavyweight kings, the Klitschko’s. There are a few people who strongly disagree with Roach being the world’s best training. Those people usually name Emanuel Steward. I can’t disagree with that. It’s a very close call. I’d certainly say one of those two are the best.

So it would appear that Amir Khan is in a very strong position right? Not really. Steward has openly said that Khan’s claims are rubbish. If that wasn’t embarrassing enough for Khan, Emanuel has denied ever talking to Khan. Steward is quoted by Examiner.com as saying “I have no comment on that. I haven’t spoken to anybody from Amir Khan’s camp. I never called anyone; I’ve never spoken to anyone. I have no knowledge of anything,”.

So why would Khan do this. Maybe he was embarrassed by his shocking loss and angered at the many critics claiming Garcia brought doomsday for Khan’s career. In response he wanted to appear in demand. If Steward did want Khan it’s a way of saying ‘look, a great trainer still thinks I am placed amongst the elite.’ But Steward isn’t interested. If he was he would have used the opportunity to throw his name into the hat. Khan is not in the kind of position where his fans will forgive him for lying to them. He should admit that he got it wrong and stop trying to pass the blame. He has now been defeated three times and has never took the blame for either. Twice was his trainers fault and one was blamed on a man wearing a hat, of all things.
