This would be a very interesting fight if it gets made, but it’s going to be hard to squeeze the fight in September due to Wladimir’s July 2nd fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye.

Wladimir will have to get through that fight without a scratch in order to be ready for the fight against Adamek only two months away. It could be that Wladimir sees how vulnerable Adamek has looked at heavyweight in fights against Jason Estrada, Andrew Golota, Michael Grant and Chris Arreola and figured that this would be an easy fight for him. It probably will be. Adamek doesn’t have the size, speed or power to compete with the huge 6’6″ Wladimir, and after his victory over the faster, more powerful Haye, Wladimir will be looking for an easy bout to end the year on.

HBO would likely jump at the chance to show Wladimir vs. Adamek in the U.S. If the Haye vs. Klitschko fight doesn’t get made, then the Adamek-Klitschko bout will be a nice replacement bout. Adamek is probably better known in the United States than Haye currently is and by the time Wladimir and Adamek fight in September, if that’s when they do fight, Adamek will be better known by then because he’s looking at fighting former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman next.
