At Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan, Saturday over ESPN+ promoter Akihiko Honda (Taiken Promotions) presented in the Main Event the younger brother of Japanese star Naoya Inoue, WBA World Bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue, who defended against former IBF World Super Flyweight champion Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas knocking him out at 0:44 of round nine.
In the co-main event, WBC World Bantamweight champion Alexandro “Peque” Santiago lost his title to WBO Super Flyweight champion Junto Nakatani, being stopped in 6 rounds.
In the main event, WBA World Bantam champ Takuma Inoue, 19-1 (5), #117 ¾, of Yokohama, Kanagawa, JAP, stopped former IBF World Super Fly champ Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas, 34-4-2 (23), #117 ¾, of Panabo City, PH, at 0:44 of the ninth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first five rounds, Inoue dominated Ancajas. From the sixth through the eighth, Inoue continued a solid body attack in what was a mismatch. In the ninth round, Inoue landed a vicious right uppercut to the body, dropping Ancajas for the full count from referee Laurence Cole.
In the co-main event WBC World Bantam champ Alexandro “Peque” Santiago, 28-4-5 (14), #117 ¾, of Tijuana, Baja California, MEX, lost to WBO World Super Fly champ Junto Nakatani, 27-0 (20), #117 ½, of Sagamihara, Kanagawa, JAP, at 1:12 of the sixth round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first three rounds, southpaw Nakatani, the taller of the two, used an effective jab.
In the fourth and fifth rounds, Nakatani busted up the champion around both eyes with left jabs and uppercuts.
In the sixth round, referee Mark Nelson saw enough to wisely stop the mismatch.
Kosei Tanaka, 20-1 (11), #114 ¾, of Nagoya, Aichi, JAP, dominated Christian Bacasegua Rangel, 22-5-2 114 ¾, of Mexicali, Baja California, MEX, over 12 rounds, winning the vacant WBO World Super Fly title.
In the six rounds, Tanaka had his way. From the seventh through the twelfth round, he continued outworking Rangel, who was no match for him. Referee Bence Kovacs.
Bantam Jonas Sultan, 19-7 (11), #117 ½, of Cebu City, Cebu, PH, was knocked out by southpaw Riku Masuda, 4-1 (4), #117 ¾, of Tokyo, JAP, at 2:21 of the first round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first round, Masuda landed a flurry of punches, driving Sultan to the canvas as Referee Michiaki Someya counted him out.
Feather Kensho Oyamada, 0-1 (0), #122 ½, of Tokyo, JAP, was stopped by Ron Kobayashi, 1-0 (1), #123 ¼, of Tokyo, JAP, at 1:51 of the fourth of a scheduled four rounds.
