By Scott Gilfoid: It’s now official that Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) will be facing Canadian Phil Lo Greco (28-3, 15 LKOs) I his comeback fight on April 21 on Sky Sports at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

The 33-year-old Lo Greco was hand-picked by Khan for his comeback to the sport after 2 long years of rest after his brutal 6th round knockout loss to Saul Canelo Alvarez in May 2016. Khan has what he hopes is a sacrificial lamb in Lo Greco for him to pad his record and showcase his skills in front of what will likely be a large audience at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. Lo Greco knows he’s being brought in as the prop to make the 31-year-old Khan look good, and he’s going to be trying his best to make the British fighter regret selecting him.

Lo Greco will need to travel to fight Khan in the UK in front of his loyal boxing fans. Lo Greco doesn’t mind. He feels that Khan’s is utterly fragile and that he’s going to smash him on April 21. Lo Greco thinks Khan’s punch resistance problems will come back to bite him on the backside when he gets him inside the ring for his long awaited comeback.

“I’ve noticed Amir loves going more to Dubai, so I’ll send him to Du-bai, and he’ll go bub-bye, #AmirGONE,” Lo Greco said. “Boxing teaches us, history repeats itself. Once you’re knocked out cold, it only gets worse.”

Well, if Canelo did knock something loose in Khan’s head, Lo Greco could be the one to expose that in their fight next April. If I was Lo Greco, I’d be head hunting all the way to try and get Khan out of there. That’s Lo Greco’s best chance of winning, because he’s never going to outbox Khan. That’s not going to happen. Even a depleted and ring rusty Khan will be boxing circles around the slow as molasses Lo Greco.

Lo Greco is going to be swinging for the fences looking to KO Khan with every punch on April 21 to try and finish off his fading career. What may hurt Lo Greco’s chances of winning the fight is the fact that he’s going to need to lose a lot of weight to get down to the 147 pound weigh-in limit for the fight. Lo Greco is a junior middleweight, not a welterweight. It’s going to be very difficult for Lo Greco to make the weight limit for this fight with the 31-year-old Khan.

Even if Lo Greco does make the 147 lb. weigh-in limit, he’ll probably be dead at the weight and too weak to hurt Khan with any of his shots. That was obviously the whole idea for Khan to select a junior middleweight instead of welterweight. When you drain a fighter by making him come down in weight 7 lbs. from their natural weight class, as they’re doing with Lo Greco, they have nothing in the power department to hurt you. It would be the same thing if Khan were to drain down to 140 for his next fight. He would be fighting on fumes and he’d be a knockout waiting to happen.

“I’m happy Amir decided to yank up his skirt and end his long-going tea party,” Lo Greco said. ”It was time he manned up. I’ve got a full training camp this time around; there will be no room for error. Amir Khan will be knocked out.”
