Garcia vs. Judah: Danny doesn’t care how much more experience Zab has going for him

garcia3434By Allan Fox: Former two division world champion Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) has made it a point to let boxing fans know that he’s got much more experience at the upper levels of the sport compared to his opponent WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (25-0, 16 KO’s), and he feels that is going to be the telling factor in him winning their fight this month on April 27th at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Garcia, 25, doesn’t think experience will mean too much for this fight. He feels that once he hits Judah really hard, the experience won’t matter one bit.

Speaking with RingTV, Garcia said “When you get hit, it don’t matter how much experience you’ve got. If you can’t take the punch, that’s the only thing that matters.”

Experience can help Judah if he knows how to negate Garcia’s number #1 weapon his left hook. Judah maintains that he’s seen a million fighters just like Garcia in his years of fighting, and he knows how to take away their left hook. Garcia does have a pretty good right hand, but his left hook is his bread and butter punch.

That’s the punch that he tends to dominate his opponents with and score knockouts with. We saw how dangerous Garcia’s left hook can be in his knockout wins over Erik Morales and Amir Khan recently. Those fighters had plenty of experience going up against fighters that throw a lot of left hooks, yet Garcia was still able to KO them.

If Judah can figure out how to block or get out of the way of Garcia’s left hand shots, he could give him a lot of problems in this fight. Judah has good offensive skills and power in his own right, and Garcia’s going to have to worry about what’s being thrown back at him.

It’s not just going to be Garcia throwing all the punches. Judah’s power is almost as good as his, and he’s got much better hand speed. If Garcia gets hit with a shot he doesn’t see or if he leaves himself open for a counter by loading up with his left hook, we could then see an upset with Judah scoring a knockout of his own.
