By Jeff Aranow: Andre Ward’s trainer Virgil Hunter is offering former light heavyweight champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev a helping hand to get him back to the top of his game following his second consecutive defeat against Ward. Kovalev was stopped in the 8th round by Ward on June 17th after getting hit with 3 straight hard body shots that folded him in half.

By Jeff Aranow: Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev will soon be facing each other in the squared circle in a badly needed rematch on June 17, and there are many boxing fans that are still hopping mad at the results of their first fight last November. I scored that fight 3 rounds for Ward and 9 rounds for Kovalev. If I was to change the scoring, I would give Kovalev another round rather than giving Ward more rounds. Kovalev won the fight in a convincing manner.

By Allan Fox: Andre Ward reportedly wants to face Sergey Kovalev in a rematch, according to his lawyer Josh Dubin. He says that the negotiations have begun between Kovalev’s promoters at Main Events and Ward’s promoters at Roc Nation Sports for a rematch on June 17. This would be another fight on HBO pay-per-view like the previous one on November 19 in 2016.

The Kovalev-Ward fight ended in controversy with Ward winning by a 12 round unanimous decision that easily could have gone the other way. One of the reasons why the decision could have gone to Kovalev is because he knocked Ward down in round 2.

There is no deal as of now. Hopefully that will change in the near future, as the boxing world is very interested in seeing Ward and Kovalev battle it out once again. Ward has talked about wanting the rematch to make sense for him.

By Matthias Predonzan: Modern boxing is – a more than 100 years old sport- and punching contests were fought as early as 5000 years ago, in ancient Iraq.

I guess the same controversies about fights’ results are, therefore, old like the activity itself and probably, they are one of the reasons why this beautiful sport still, beside all, well alive and popular.

By Allan Fox: IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (31-0, 15 KOs) says he’s tempted to give Sergey Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KOs) a rematch so that he can prove that his win over him wasn’t a fluke thing, and also to shut-up all the haters that have been talking about him. Ward beat Kovalev by a close 12 round unanimous decision three months ago on November 19.

The boxing public largely saw Kovalev as the winner of that fight rather than Ward, but the three judges assigned to the fight gave him a narrow 114-113 x 3 victory. The fans didn’t see it the way Ward saw the fight, as they felt that Kovalev won the fight by a fairly wide scores. Ward’s reluctance to agree to the rematch with Kovalev has a lot of the fans seeing him as scared.

By Allan Fox: Andre “SOG” Ward (31-0, 15 KOs) says he’s not sure if he wants to continue his boxing career to fight former 175lb champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KOs) in a rematch. Ward says he’s been fighting 22 or 23 years, and he sees that as a long time. He’s not sure if he wants to continue fighting, and he says it has nothing to do with Kovalev.

Ward beat Kovalev by a controversial 12 round unanimous decision on November 19 last year. That was a fight in which Ward was getting worked over by Kovalev in the first two rounds of the fight.
