Stiverne vs. Wilder

Deontay says he doesn’t want to hear those same critics after he beats WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1, 21 KOs) in their fight next month on January 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deontay wants to receive a pat on the back if/when he beats the hard-hitting Stiverne and takes his WBC strap next month. This is a big step up for Deontay, as Stiverne is a very good fighter and one of the best in the heavyweight division.

This is a big, big fight for Deontay and for many Americans, because he has the chance of capturing the WBC heavyweight title and bringing it back to the U.S. It would be the first American world champion since Shannon Briggs accomplished that fete back in 2006.

By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBC Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) sees himself racking up his 33rd consecutive knockout next month when he challenges for the WBC heavyweight title against 36-year-old Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deontay believes he’ll get to Stiverne’s chin early in the fight perhaps as early as the 2nd round. At worst, Deontay thinks the fight can last as long as four rounds, but that’s as far as he sees Stiverne being able to go before he knocks him out.

The Stiverne-Wilder fight was made official earlier on Sunday. As part of the build up to the fight, there will be a Stiverne-Wilder ALL Access episode that will take place a week before the fight.
