By Jeff Aranow: The World Boxing Council has sanctioned the Oleksandr Gvozdyk vs. Eleider Alvarez fight to face the winner of the fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack. The WBC states that the Stevenson-Jack winner MUST face the Alvarez vs. Gvozdyk winner.
By Stanley White: WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis ‘Superman’ Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) will be defending his title against Badou Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs) in February or March of 2018, according to RingTV.
By Dan Amrbose: World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman will be sanctioning the fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis ‘Superman’ Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) and former 2 division world champion Badou ‘The Ripper’ Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs). Additionally, the WBC will also be ordering a fight between #1 WBC Eleider Alvarez (23-0, 11 KOs) and #2 WBC Oleksandr Gvozdyk (14-0, 12 KOs). This will be a mini-tournament, according to Sulaiman.

By Jeff Aranow: WBC World light heavyweight champion Adonis “Superman” Stevenson says he’s now ready to fight WBA champion Badou Jack or IBF/WBA/WBO 175 lb. champion Andre “SOG” Ward in a unification fight. Stevenson says it doesn’t matter which of the two he fights. He wants to add their titles to his collection.
By Allan Fox: WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) has accepted newly crowned WBA World 175 lb. champion Badou Jack’s challenge to fight him in a unification match. Stevenson, 39, wanted to fight a unification match against IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Andre “SOG” Ward, but there doesn’t appear to be any interest in making that fight from his side.
Stevenson says he wants Jack’s WBA title to add to his collection.
