McKenna (McJack): (Super) WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and The Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (57-3, 50 KO’s) did what he was supposed to when he KO’d French challenger former cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22 KO’s) in the 4th round. The pair fought at the ESPRIT arena in Dusseldorf, Germany on Saturday night and there were no surprises.

By Eric Thomaas: 39-year-old Jean Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22 KO’s seemed frozen by the moment tonight in facing IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (57-3, 50 KO’s) in front of 50,000 fans in the ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Mormeck never did get his offense un-tracked in losing by a 4th round TKO defeat in one of the worst mismatches for Wladimir since his 2nd round TKO win over Ray Austin in March 2007.

By Allan Fox: IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (57-3, 50 KO’s) made it look easy in beating former cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22 KO’s) by a 4th round TKO win on Saturday night in front of 50,000+ fans at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wladimir knocked Mormeck down times in the fight, once in the 2nd and the final time in the 4th. The fight was halted in the 4th when Wladimir connected with a big left-right combination that put Mormeck down for the count.

By Allan Fox: For weeks now, IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has been one of Jean Marc Mormeck’s biggest supporters, raining compliments down upon his head constantly, describing him as “Dangerous” and similar to Mike Tyson with his style of fighting. After all that praise, little of it has stuck with the boxing public unfortunately for Wladimir, as they still see this fight as a huge mismatch. But it does sort of put Mormeck in a situation where there is some pressure on him now to try and live up to all the compliments that Wladimir has poured over his head.

In looking at the records of those great fighters, Wladmir is close to catching up to Dempsey and Louis but will likely never achieve the amount of KOs that big George Foreman accomplished during his long career.

I’m sure he likely doesn’t care, as he’ll do well regardless in terms of making a lot of money for the fight.

Mormeck would probably be the last one that you would pick out to defeat a fighter like Wladimir, but Mormeck has a chance because he’s good power and Wladimir is very susceptible to getting hurt when hit hard. Mormeck has a punchers’ chance of winning this fight if he can land his big shots.

A lot of the fans are ignoring the fight compared Wladimir’s other bouts and it’s kind of unusual to see people so turned off towards a Wladimir fight. Hopefully it’ll be an interesting bout. Ola Afolabi will b e facing Valery Brudov for the interim WBO cruiserweight title on the undercard in fight that promises to be a lot more competitive bout compared to the Klitschko vs. Mormeck bout.

By Sean McDaniel: In watching IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s) during his media workout one couldn’t help noticing that he’s throwing a lot of short uppercuts along with jabs to get himself ready for his fight against Jean Marco Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO’s) on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wladimir, 6’6″, may need to throw uppercuts because the 5’11” Mormeck will likely crowd him all night long and Wladimir will need a short uppercut to catch Mormeck on the way in.
