Mark Young: What can you say?, the same writers who were explaining in great detail exactly how the carved road warrior Glen Johnson was going to demolish Carl Froch are already detailing just how washed up and shot Glen Johnson was during the fight he subsequently lost.
Froch vs. Ward
Froch: Ward is in serious trouble
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) is set to face WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s) in the finals of the Super Six tournament after Froch defeated 42-year-old Glen Johnson in a tough fight on June 4th. Froch is a slow fighter that does well against other slow guys but who struggles against speed and talent.
Bute and Hopkins hoped for fights for Froch if he beats Ward
By William Mackay: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch has a nearly impossible task of trying to beat the best fighter in the Super Six tournament WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward, who Froch faces in the finals of the tournament in a fight that will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Froch beat 42-year-old Glen Johnson in his last tournament fight to get to the finals against Ward.
Froch too slow to beat Ward
By Scott Gifloid: It looks like WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) is on the verge of getting soundly beaten in the Super Six tournament and sent home to England in defeat when he faces WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s) in the finals of the Super Six tourney. I studied Froch’s recent fight against Glen Johnson long and hard, and I didn’t like what I saw of Froch. He fought like a tall spider with slow hands, poor foot work and even worse defense.
Froch wants a fight against Calzaghe, but may have to settle for Cleverly or Pascal
Froch: I will display my gloves on my wall after I beat Ward
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) struggled hard to beat 42-year-old Glen Johnson (51-15-2, 35 KO’s) last weekend in their Super Six tournament semifinals bout at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After eating right hands from Johnson all night long, Froch was able to win a 12 round majority decision. The win puts Froch in the finals of the Super Six tournament against the fighter pretty much destined to win the whole ball of wax WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s).
Super Six: How will the final pan out?
By Mark Young: Andre Ward did the business and beat Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch delivered the goods and beat Glen Johnson and now both the winners enter the Super Six final. The tournament didn’t quite pan out as initially planned but two of the original entrants made the final and the final looks very interesting.
Fights that really must happen in 2011 – The ultimate card: Maidana-Brook, Haye-Klitschko, Froch-Ward, Pacquiao-Mayweather
Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye
This fight for me would be the main event of the card. It’s the fight everyone wants in the division that needs it the most. In sport, you judge it by its top division and for boxing, that is the Heavyweight division. David Haye has been calling out the Klitschko brothers since knocking out Enzo Maccarinelli in 2008, doing anything to get their attention.
