Cleverly vs. Karpency
Cleverly-Karpency: When will Nathan finally defend against his mandatory challenger?
By Scott Gilfoid: WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 KO’s) will be making his third defense of his title on February 25th against #10 World Boxing Organization ranked contender Tommy Karpency (21-2-1, 14 KO’s), who was only recently in the past couple of weeks pushed to the No.10 spot by the WBO.
Cleverly-Karpency: Nathan will win but he’s going to look bad in doing so
By Scott Gilfoid: As I predicted earlier, the World Boxing Organization has responded and given challenger Tommy Karpency (21-2-1, 14 KO’s) a ranking in the top 15 for his February 25th fight against WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 10 KO’s) at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, Wales, UK.
Cleverly-Karpency: Nathan in no win situation with weak opponent
Cleverly can’t afford to look bad against Karpency
Cleverly-Karpency: Nathan needs to shine in this fight
Cleverly disappointed that Froch won’t fight him
By Scott Gilfoid: WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 KO’s) is upset that former two-time WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20 KO’s) won’t step up a weight class and challenge him for his World Boxing Organization belt after the 24-year-old Cleverly made open challenge to the 34-year-old Froch following his loss to WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward in the Super Six tournament.
Cleverly: I’ll look good in beating Karpency
By Scott Gilfoid: WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 KO’s) didn’t look at all good in his last fight against Tony Bellew and looked about as bad in his fight before that against Aleksy Kuziemski. So this time, Cleverly is facing an arguably even weaker opponent in Tommy Karpency (21-2-1, 14 KO’s) on February 25th, at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, Wales.
Hearn: Why not give Bellew a rematch with Cleverly
By Scott Gilfoid: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn asked the question that was on the tongues of a lot of boxing fans today when upon hearing the news that WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 Ko’s) will be facing Tommy Karpency (21-2-1, 14 KO’s) next on February 25th, Hearn said on his twitter “Why not give Tony Bellew the rematch? It was a great fight and easy to make again?” Hearn is 100% right of course.
Cleverly-Karpency: Another soft defense for Cleverly – Very disappointing but so predictable!
By Scott Gilfoid: Earlier today it was announced that WBO light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly (23-0, 11 KO’s) would be making his next defense against #11 World Boxing Association ranked contender Tommy Karpency (21-2-1, 14 KO’s) in a fight on February 25th at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales Karpency hasn’t fought in over a year. Great opponent, eh? I think it’s fair to say Cleverly will win this one.
