By Allen Fox: Number #1 ranked WBC contender Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1, 46 KO’s) has the potential of wrecking the big plans of promoter Bob Arum for his young star WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31 KO’s) in their fight next month on February 4th on HBO. Arum needs Chavez Jr. to beat Rubio so that Arum can bypass Sergio Martinez for a second time and put Chavez in with another one of Arum’s fighter WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto for a big money fight.

Rubio wants to expose Chavez Jr. as a fake champion on 2/4
By Dan Ambrose: Although Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31 KO’s) did beat the WBC appointed World Boxing Council middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik last June to capture the WBC strap, No.1 ranked challenger Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1, 46 KO’s) reportedly doesn’t recognize the 25-year-old Chavez Jr. as a real champion and instead sees him as nothing more than just a paper champion whom he has to beat to win the title.
Chavez Jr. will have problems with Rubio’s power
By William Mackay: WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31 KO’s) has improved a lot in the past year and isn’t nearly as hittable as he once was. He’s using his jab more and even showing good footwork in some of his fights. However, Chavez Jr. was still getting hit cleanly in his last fight against Peter Manfredo Jr. and won the fight based on his better size and power.
