Sanchez: Golovkin is willing to fight Froch in the UK

YouTube video

By Scott Gilfoid: If WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) is looking for a big fight later this year after he finishes healing up from his elbow injury then he might want to consider a fight against unbeaten WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (32-0, 29 KOs).

Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez says that they’re interested in the Froch fight, and would be willing to fly over to England to take the fight if he’s interested.

Froch doesn’t have an opponent for his next, which he says he’d like to take during the summer. The fighter that Froch has talked of wanting to fight, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, is already scheduled to fight Andrzej Fonfara on April 18th, and there’s no way that Chavez Jr will be able to fight in the summer.

Sanchez thinks Adrien Broner can come back from loss

broner660By Dan Ambrose: Trainer Abel Sanchez believes that former WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-1, 22 KO’s) can definitely turn his career around and come back from his defeat last month to Marcos Maidana. However, Sanchez thinks that Broner will need to move down in weight to 140 for him to have a chance of returning to form. He doesn’t believe that Broner is ready for the welterweight division right now at this point in his still early career.

“I think he can bounce back real good,” Sanchez said to Hustleboss. “I don’t think 147 is his weight. It may be in the future. I think it behooves him to get down to 140. I think Adrien had not had the difficult fights along the way to prepare him for Maidana…Broner has had a spoon-fed repertoire.”

Abel Sanchez expects Golovkin to make quick work of Curtis Stevens

golovkin433By Dan Ambrose: Middleweight contender Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18 KO’s) has been talking a lot recently about how he’s not afraid of WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24 KO’s) as the two head towards their November 2nd fight on HBO at the Madison Square Garden Theater, in New York, New York, USA.

Golovkin’s trainer Abel Sanchez expects Stevens to keep talking right up to the point where the two fighters step foot inside the ring. However, once they start trading punches, Sanchez feels that Stevens will be very afraid once he feels Golovkin’s power.

Sanchez said to RingTV “I expect Stevens to keep talking…but I also expect that as soon as Curtis gets hit with the first jab, he’ll be more scared than [Matthew] Macklin was. I think that it’s a short night for Gennady. I think that Curtis has talked himself into a bigger money fight by posturing.”
