By Matt Stein: Former cruiserweight champion David Haye continued with his unpredictable actions by suddenly bailing on his fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, whom he had a verbal agreement to fight on September 12th, to turn around and sign for a fight with World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev instead. The bout, if Haye makes it to the starting gate without pulling up lame or running off, will be taking place on November 7th.

Vitali vs. Valuev Just a Rumor; Campillo vs. Brahmer – News
By Erik Schmidt: There could possibly be a bout between newly crowned World Boxing Association light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo (18-2, 6 KO’s) and Juergen Braehmer (33-2, 27 KO’s) in the near future. Campillo, 30, pulled off a shocking victory over WBA light heavyweight champion Hugo Hernan Garay in a 12 round majority decision last weekend in Argentina, and it looks like Campillo is looking to set up another bout rather than give a rematch to Garay, who was said to be weight drained in the fight.
Where Does Haye Go Now That Vitali Will Be Fighting Valuev?
By Chris Williams: It looks as if David Haye got some really bad news today when the breaking story about WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko choosing to fight a unification bout with WBA champion Nikolai Valuev rather than opting to fight Haye in September.
Valuev vs. Vitali Klitschko in September or October
By Matt Stein: After four off and on years as the World Boxing Association heavyweight champion, Nikolay Valuev (50-1, 34 KO’s) will be facing his toughest test of his career by fighting a unification bout against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KO’s) in September or October of this year. Vitali and Valuev, as well as big Nikolai’s promotional company, have confirmed that Vitali and Nikolai have spoken and come to an agreement about a fight.
Who’s Next for Valuev?
By Jason Kim: Heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev (50-1, 34 KOs) was recently given the status of the “official” World Boxing Association heavyweight champion by the WBA this week after WBA “champion in recess” Ruslan Chagaev failed a pre-fight medical test before their scheduled fight two weeks ago.
Should Hopkins Go After Valuev Rather than Froch?
By William Mackay: Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KOs) has been mentioned as potential opponent for WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KOs) in September, but I’m hoping that Hopkins doesn’t sell himself short and take this fight because there are bigger and better things out there for the 44-year-old Hopkins starting with WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev (50-1, 34 KOs).
Wladimir Looking At Valuev, Chambers or Chagaev as a Replacement Opponent
By Erik Schmidt: According to German news, International Boxing Federation/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs) is looking at range of different opponents to step in for the injured David Haye, who had to pull out of the June 20th fight with Klitschko that was set to take place at the Veltins Arena, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. With over 60,000 tickets already sold for the bout, understandably, Wladimir is interested in carrying out the fight date but against a different opponent.

Why Wasn’t Brewster Used as a Replacement Opponent for Valuev?
By Dave Lahr: If you’re like me, you have to wonder why former World Boxing Organization heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster wasn’t used as a replacement for WBA heavyweight champion in recess Ruslan Chagaev yesterday in order to save his title bout against Nikolay Valuev which ended up getting cancelled after the Finland boxing medical team discovered an existing illness for Chagaev.
Chagaev-Valuev Bout Should Have Been Cancelled Earlier
By Jim Dower: With yesterday’s shocking news of the bout between WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev and Ruslan Chagaev being called off due to Chagaev being unable to meet the requirements of the Finish Boxing Federations’ medical requirements for the bout. According to Sky Sports, Chagaev had showed up positive for the hepatitis B virus on a pre-fight medical test. Whether that’s true or not isn’t known, but what is known is that Chagaev has failed the medical test for the bout.
