By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) reportedly went WAY overboard in trying to hype his fight with WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) for Saturday night by saying he’s ready to kill Kessler if he has to.
Froch seemed really agitated at the press conference, like he had come unglued for some unknown reason. Whether it’s real or just staged aggression isn’t clear, but what is clear that Froch’s comments may end up leading to disciplinary action from the British Boxing Board of Control.
Froch said this as quoted by the telegraph.co.uk “On Saturday night, if I have to, I will kill this f*****. I will kill him. It sounds brutal, it sounds horrible, but that is what this means to me…And when I am smashing his face in, I am going to go for the kill, I am going to go for the finish.”
