By Allan Fox: According to fightnews.com, WBA World featherweight champion Celestino Caballero (36-4, 23 KO’s) will be making his next defense against unbeaten Miguel “Mikey” Garcia (28-0, 24 KO’s) in a mandatory defense. The World Boxing Association is reportedly giving the 35-year-old Caballero 30 days with which to negotiate the fight with the 24-year-old Garcia.

Lopez took a pounding in the fight and was not surprisingly dropped in the 10th after eating a hard right hand from Salido.

By Jim Dower: In easily the best fight on the entire undercard of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Sebatian Zbik fight at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, California, unbeaten junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 19 KO’s) took out Mexican Saul Roman (34-9, 29 KO’s) with a 7th round stoppage. Martirosyan, who had a serious cut underneath his right eye and a bloody nose, knocked Roman down in the 7th with a charging attack.
