wlodizark423By Erik Schmidt: Cruiserweight contender Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (42-2-1, 31 KO’s) defeated Bulgarian journeyman Konstantin Semerdjiev (27-12-2, 16 KO’s) by an easy eight round decision on Friday night at the Hala MOSiR, ul. Kolbego 11, os. Baranki, Elk, in Poland. The final judges’ scores were 79-72m 80-71 and 80-72. Wlodarczyk, 28, knocked Semerdjiev down at the start of the 2nd round with a short right hand to the head.

Fragomeni and Wodarczyk Fight to 12-round Draw

By Erik Schmidt: World Boxing Council cruiserweight champion Giacobbe Fragomeni (26-1-1, 10 KOs) fought to a disappointing 12-round draw on Saturday night against his Polish challenger Krzysztof Wodarczyk (41-2-1, 31 KOs) at the Gran Teatro, in Roma, Lazio, Italy. The final judges’ scores were 116-112 for Fragomeni, 114-113 for Wodarczyk, and the final judge scored it 114-114. Boxing News 24 scored it 114-113 for Wodarczyk. Fragomeni was knocked down twice in the 9th, but the referee Ian John-Lewis failed to count the 2nd knockdown for some strange reason.

Wlodarczyk Destroys Mensah

Former International Boxing Federation cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (39-2, 29 KOs) destroyed opponent Aloryi Moyoyo Mensah (14-5-1, 8 KOs) in the 5th round on Saturday night at the Hala na Podpromiu, in Rzeszow, Podkarpackie, Poland. Wlodarczyk, 26, in the 5th round, hit Mensah, a native of Ghana, with three successive right hands while he was trapped on the ropes, hurting him badly and causing referee Leszek Jankowiak to stop the bout at 1:42 of the 5th round.
