Does Berto Need to Change His Fighting Style?
By Dave Lahr: When looking at the last three fights for WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, I’ve noticed that he’s become less interesting to watch as he’s started clinching more often. The clinching didn’t used to be a part of Berto’s game, because he was more of an all action type fighter up until the fight where he fought Steve Forbes.

The final judges’ scores were 118-110, 118-110 and 117-111.

Berto, 25, hopefully doesn’t have to struggle as badly as he did against Luis Collazo in his last fight which Berto took a lot of punishment en route to winning the fight by a close 12-round decision in January.
Ward vs. Miranda on May 16th; Berto vs. Urango – News
By Jim Dower: Unbeaten Andre Ward (18-0, 12 KOs) will have a huge home field advantage on May 16th against Colombian Edison Miranda (32-3, 28 KOs) when he faces him at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California. Ward, 25, is making a monumental jump up in competition by choosing the powerful Miranda, 28, to fight. Ranked #w in the WBO #2 in the WBC, Ward hardly needs to face a fighter as dangerous as Miranda.
Berto vs. Urango, Angulo vs. Cintron on May 30th – News
By Jim Dower: In a move that doesn’t surprise me in the least, WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs), arguably the weakest of the welterweight champions, will defend his title against light welterweight Juan Urango (21-1, 16 KOs) in a 12-round bout on May 30th at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel, in Hollywood, Florida. Urango, 28, in his biggest fight of his career was defeated by Ricky Hatton in a 12-round lopsided decision in January 2007.
