By Scott Gilfoid: The December 3rd card headlined by a mega fight between WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito has a few decent fights on the card. Unfortunately, the fight between WBA World lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KO’s) vs. John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) isn’t one of them.

John Murray back with trainer Gallagher; still faces a likely KO loss to Brandon Rios in December
By Scott Gilfoid: John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) is reportedly back with his old trainer Joe Gallagher after a brief bit of time away from him. However, it likely won’t matter for Murray’s next fight who’s working as his trainer because Murray is really up against it in his December 3rd fight against WBA World lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Rios vs. Murray: What a mismatch!
By Scott Gilfoid: WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios has picked from the bottom of the pool to select John Murray for his next fight on December 3rd fight. I can’t think of a worse mismatch this one. It’s a beauty of a mismatch if that’s your cup of tea. The thing is Murray actually thinks he’s going to win the fight. Can you believe that?
Brandon Rios: I’ll destroy Murray early, then I want Gamboa and Maidana
By Scott Gilfoid: It’s looking like Britain’s John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) will be the next sacrificial lamb for WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KO’s) to destroy on December 3rd on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto – Antonio Margarito II rematch at the New York’s Madison Square Garden.
What next for John Murray?
By Scott Gilfoid: It’s been a little over a month since lightweight John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) was humiliated and badly exposed in an 8th round knockout loss to Kevin Mitchell on July 16th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. Murray, 26, still doesn’t have any fights planned and it makes you wonder how he’s going to respond to this loss.
Warren thinks Murray can bounce back from the Mitchell defeat
By Scott Gilfoid: British promoter Frank Warren thinks his fighter lightweight contender John Murray (31-1, 18 KO’s) can bounce back from his one-sided 8th round knockout loss to Kevin Mitchell (32-1, 24 KO’s) and still find success during his career. Warren doesn’t say what kind of success he thinks Murray can still accomplish, but hopefully he’s not under the impression that Murray can move onto fight and win a title at lightweight.
