Golovkin’s trainer wants Lemieux to backup his tough talk

1-GolovkinLemieuxLAPC_Hoganphotos11By Dan Ambrose: IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) has made a lot of noise lately in saying that he’s going to come punching in his unification fight against IBF/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) on October 17th this month in their fight on HBO pay-per-view.

Abel Sanchez, the trainer for Golovkin, wants the fight to be an exciting affair with both guys throwing leather from start until the bitter finish. Lemieux has always been a slugger during his career, and that’s why Sanchez is hoping that he sticks to his original style of fighting so that Golovkin doesn’t have to chase him around the ring all night long like he’s been forced to do against some of his opponents.

This expert advice that De La Hoya and Hopkins could prove valuable for the 26-year-old Lemieux, or it could be a total waste of time. We do know that De La Hoya has given his fighters advice in the past, and it’s not helped them.

Loeffler expects conservative PPV numbers for Golovkin-Lemieux

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=1&v=49NPY3ogWe4

By Allan Fox: IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler isn’t expecting huge pay-per-view numbers for Golovkin’s fight on HBO PPV against IBF middleweight title holder David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) in their fight on October 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Loeffler quite rightfully expects the PPV numbers to be “conservative” for the fight card, which makes a lot of sense because neither of these fighters Golovkin and Lemieux are American, nor have they ever fought on a pay-per-view card before.

Lemieux will shock the world against Golovkin, says De La Hoya

delahoya3By Dan Ambrose: It’s generally understood by all that IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) is the underdog in his fight against IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) in their unification fight this month on HBO pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Golovkin has the superior experience, punching power, amateur pedigree and talent going into this fight. Golovkin is in the prime of his career; whereas Lemieux is still not quite gotten to the top of his game yet. However, Lemieux’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions expects Lemieux to shock the boxing world with what he brings to the table in this fight on 10/17.

Lemieux needs to catch Golovkin early to win

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UUptSjXPVA&feature=youtu.be

By Dan Ambrose: It’s well known that IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) tends to gas out and lose power on his shots by the 6th or 7th rounds of his fights. We saw that in his defeats against Joachim Acline and Marco Antonio Rubio, as well as his recent win over Hassan N’Dam last June.

In each of those fights, the 26-year-old Lemieux faded badly by the 6th round. There hasn’t been much improvement in Lemieux’s conditioning since 2011, when he was beaten in back to back fights by Rubio and Alcine.

1-GolovkinLemieuxLAPC_Hoganphotos11By Dan Ambrose: Freddie Roach, the trainer for WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, says that IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) will absolutely kill IBF 160lb champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) in their fight next month on October 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Roach thinks that Golovkin will have no problems beating the 26-year-old Lemieux, and he believes that he can KO the Canadian fighter any time he wants in that fight. Roach says he wants to see Cotto face Golovkin afterwards so that he can fight out which of the two fighters are the best in the world.

Lemieux: Golovkin hasn’t faced a fighter like me!

Image: Lemieux: Golovkin hasn’t faced a fighter like me!By Tim Fletcher: IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) feels that he’s going to be a much different type of test for IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) than the type of opponents he’s been facing when they battle it out on October 17th.

Lemieux, 26, thinks his big punching power will be too much for Golovkin to handle in this fight. While Lemieux has a lot of respect for Golovkin’s own punching power, he suspects that he’ll be able to get to the Kazakhstan fighter with his own big shots before he can get to him.
